TRI-COUNTY CONEWAGO CREEK ASSOCIATION LAWN FIRE DEPARTMENT – June 26, 2002, 7:00 PM MEETING MINUTES I. Welcome and Introductions Matt Royer began the meeting by summarizing the previous meeting from May 29. Those persons attending the meeting introduced themselves and noted applicable affiliations. II. Reviewed Secretary's Report of June 20th Board Meeting III. Treasurer's Report There was no new activity to report. The balance remains at $747.04. IV. Various Projects to Date - The Salamander Project will be conducted by Matt Royer and Nicole Caruso on July 14th. - Watershed assessment (initial stages) will be reviewed at the next Board of Directors meeting. V. Funding and Organizational Report - Matt reported that Hal Royer and Matt Kofroth received the WREN Grant and it is now in the possession of Lancaster County Conversation District for TCCCA use. - Briefly discussed the merits of holding an art show in September. VI. Elizabethtown SWAP Meeting Recap Hal Royer attended and gave a brief report on this meeting. A major topic was preserving the Etown Borough water source. Non-point water pollution is a major concern. Hal mentioned that we are willing to work with the Borough in protecting the watershed. VII. Presentation Susan Richards of the Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay spoke on the following topics: 1) 30-year old non-profit organization 2) Provides unbiased information about the bay and the relative issues 3) Restore Corp works on restoration projects 4) They can focus on training and developing volunteers 5) The Alliance can also provide some plant material or provide sources in the public sector. 6) Provides contact service for recruitment 7) Provides press releases for volunteer projects and training initiatives 8) Website is www.restorecorps.org VIII.
